THE VIBES DJ Academy: Championing professional DJ training, empowering African talents

The academy was founded by two revered Disc Jockeys and patriots, DJ Consequence and DJ Massive, the latter fondly known by his stage name, OnlyOneMassive. OnlyOneMassive, whose real name is Adetiloye Pius Ayodeji, is a celebrated Nigerian DJ, music producer, and educator. He is known for his unique blend of Afrobeats and electronic music, which has taken him to prestigious venues worldwide, including Ministry of Sound in London. As a co-founder of THE VIBES DJ Academy, he has trained over 200 DJs globally through the academy’s programs, DJ competitions, and mentorship initiatives. OnlyOneMassive is a champion for African sounds, empowering the next generation of talent and establishing himself as a true visionary in the music industry.

One of the giant leaps of the academy at the early stage was a partnership with Budweiser. Vibes DJ Academy, barely a few months old in 2021, was already making waves.  Their recent announcement of a partnership with Budweiser was a huge win, and they had just revealed the lucky recipients of their Advanced DJ Scholarship.  While the academy noted that many applicants didn’t quite hit the mark for the advanced level, they were still impressed by the creativity shown, proving that the passion was there.  The winners were asked to get in touch with the academy team right away so they could start their journey. This Budweiser collaboration was a real testament to the academy’s rising profile in the DJ world, and it was a fantastic boost for up-and-coming DJs looking to hone their skills and chase their dreams.  It showed Vibes DJ Academy was apparently decisive about helping fresh talent find its footing and thrive. 

The co-founder of this academy, Adetiloye Pius Ayodeji, widely known as OnlyOneMassive, is an accomplished DJ, music producer, and mentor who has made a lasting impact on Nigeria’s music industry and beyond. With a successful career that began in 2010, the Ondo indigene has been recognized with awards such as Best DJ at the PIRA Awards (2014) and FUTA Awards (2015, 2016). After relocating to Lagos in 2017, he further solidified his prominence. As co-founder of THE VIBES DJ Academy, he has trained over 200 DJs globally, emphasizing technical skills, creativity, and entrepreneurship. He is acclaimed for his unique fusion of Afro rhythms and electronic beats, performing at major festivals and iconic venues like Ministry of Sound in London. Inspired by legends like Carl Cox and Jazzy Jeff, Ayodeji has crafted a distinct style that honors his roots while embracing modern trends.
